Description
Inspired by a old and simple technique of animation, except that in this case the object really is brought up to life and takes flight, not without crashing a human-sized version of the cage: the greenhouse. I wanted the character to channel a bit Coppola’s Dracula because of the early cinematograph scenes and the analogy with the thaumatrope (see the lunaria branch). Also it was a pretext to paint plants like this fantastic Socotra’s Adenium obesium… I missed out on the Titan arum though.
