Description
The original [gothic] lolitas (who didn’t chose the name of their fashion, btw — unsurprisingly, that came from a male journalist) were very introverted young women from Japan who aimed to dress solely according to their own tastes heavily influenced by romantic ideas about western historical fashion. This one holds a koinobori, a symbol associated with boyhood and looks at it in incredulity because in these women’s world men and the male gaze don’t even register.
